Our Impact

The Idea

After years of hosting Market of Hope as a single annual event, we dreamt of expanding Market of Hope’s capacity to provide long-term avenues of change for the beneficiaries of our partners. As it was, however, Market of Hope placed an unnecessary financial burden on the local church, limiting its frequency, and therefore hindering its potential. We brainstormed solutions and came up with one.

With a small amount of upfront investment, Market of Hope was able to launch a new model that makes it self-sustainable, freeing up church funds to invest in other worthwhile causes and skyrocketing Market of Hope’s ability to both generate income for global artisans, and to reach shoppers with the good news of the opportunity to shop with a purpose.

WHERE WERE OUR FUNDS SPENT IN 2015?

We are committed to keeping our operational costs at 20% of our total income, allowing 80% of everything Market of Hope receives through both sales and donations to go out to supporting our partners.

In 2015, we were pleased to be able to send 93% of what was received directly to our partners.
